Client Office Phlebotomist-Part-time Days KA

Location: Client site in Ellisville, Missouri, United States. Part-time, 30 hours per week, with Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday daytime shifts. Travel to additional sites may be required.

What you will do

• Perform phlebotomy and collect blood and other laboratory specimens from infants, adults, geriatric patients, and wheelchair users.
• Provide post-phlebotomy care, follow patient-identification and handwashing requirements, and maintain a safe patient-care environment.
• Label, process, transfer, and track specimens according to established protocols, including handling requisitions, manifests, and clerical records.
• Request physician orders, enter laboratory tests into computer systems, and communicate completed, timed, or outstanding draws, charges, and results.
• Monitor refrigerator temperatures and quality-control records, report issues, and maintain equipment relevant to the role.
• Coordinate with laboratory staff, physicians, client office personnel, patients, and coworkers while completing tasks independently and maintaining a recollection or cancellation rate below 2 percent.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized organization or training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, plus one or more years of healthcare phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to work the specified Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday daytime schedule.
• Ability to work at the Ellisville client site and travel to additional sites when needed.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy for a broad range of patient types and follow laboratory, patient-safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

Nice to have

• Experience processing and transferring laboratory specimens and operating a centrifuge.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
• Bilingual skills.
