Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS Instrumentation SDK)

Location: Remote; applicants must be based in Spain, Ireland, Germany, the UK, or Sweden

Base compensation in the Republic of Ireland: EUR 104,000–130,000 per year. Compensation varies by location, level, experience, and skills.

What you will do

• Build and evolve high-performance iOS instrumentation SDKs using Swift and Objective-C.
• Design and ship session tracking, crash reporting, sampling, context propagation, and OpenTelemetry integrations.
• Own projects end to end, breaking ambiguous problems into modular deliverables and iterating from feedback.
• Maintain automated tests, CI, documentation, performance, stability, and backward-compatible upgrade paths.
• Collaborate with backend, frontend, product, and solutions engineering teams on end-to-end observability workflows.
• Contribute to the open-source community, mentor teammates, review designs, and help shape the mobile observability roadmap.

Requirements

• Strong iOS engineering experience with Swift and Objective-C; Android experience with Kotlin or Java is optional.
• Experience building or maintaining mobile SDKs, platform libraries, or developer-facing platform code used externally.
• Experience with performance-sensitive code, including startup time, memory usage, and network efficiency.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry instrumentation, SDKs, collectors, or similar telemetry libraries.
• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous situations while collaborating effectively in a fully remote, globally distributed team.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to write documentation, mentor others, and contribute to roadmap decisions.

Nice to have

• Contributions to OpenTelemetry, crash reporting libraries, or other observability open-source projects.
• Experience with React Native, Flutter, or native bindings and bridges.
• Experience with mobile security, privacy, platform integration, crash aggregation, session replay, or mobile telemetry sampling.
