Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS)

Location: Remote for applicants based in Spain, Ireland, Germany, the UK, or Sweden

Salary: €97,000–€121,000 annually in Germany; RSUs included.

What you will do

• Build and evolve high-performance, stable iOS instrumentation SDKs using Swift and Objective-C.
• Design and ship session tracking, crash reporting, sampling, automatic context propagation, and OpenTelemetry integrations.
• Own projects end to end, breaking ambiguous problems into modular deliverables, MVPs, and iterative releases.
• Maintain automated tests, CI, documentation, and backwards-compatible upgrade paths.
• Collaborate with backend, frontend, product, and solutions engineering on end-to-end observability workflows.
• Contribute to the open-source community, review pull requests, participate in design discussions, mentor teammates, and help shape the mobile observability roadmap.

Requirements

• Strong iOS engineering experience with Swift and Objective-C.
• Experience building or maintaining mobile SDKs, platform libraries, or developer-facing platform code.
• Experience with performance-sensitive code, including startup time, memory usage, and network efficiency.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry instrumentation, SDKs, collectors, or similar telemetry libraries.
• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments while collaborating effectively in a fully remote team.
• Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, mentoring, and roadmap-shaping skills.

Nice to have

• Android experience with Kotlin or Java.
• Contributions to OpenTelemetry, crash reporting libraries, or other observability open-source projects.
• Experience with React Native, Flutter, native bindings, or bridges.
• Experience with mobile security, privacy, crash aggregation, session replay, or mobile telemetry sampling.
