Senior Software Engineer (Vue)

Location: Remote within the United States, with occasional in-person office meetings required for candidates in the Madison, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver, or Salt Lake City metro areas.

Salary: $100,000–$144,000 per year, plus potential discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of scalable SaaS products using Laravel, Vue.js, and Tailwind CSS.
• Build and maintain secure RESTful APIs and single-page applications for enterprise energy software.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and program teams to align product delivery with customer and business needs.
• Improve application performance, security, scalability, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
• Debug full-stack issues, participate in code reviews, and contribute across the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor software engineers and contribute to the strategic direction of software development.

Requirements

• Must currently reside in the United States; visa sponsorship or extensions are not available.
• Advanced PHP 8.x experience, including object-oriented programming, Laravel, RESTful API development, testing with Pest or PHPUnit, and Laravel deployment patterns.
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience building software with PHP frameworks and at least 6 years using Vue or similar JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with TypeScript, Vue Composition API, state management, modular component design, Vite, npm, and Git-based workflows.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, serverless environments, cloud monitoring and alerting systems such as New Relic or CloudWatch.
• Experience leading architecture and feature development for scalable SaaS products in an Agile or Scrum environment.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• Experience with data analytics, reporting, and business intelligence platforms.
• Familiarity with Node.js.
