Head of Fraud (Fintech)

What you will do

• Build, implement, and maintain the Fraud Risk Management Framework for a new Irish Payment Institution.
• Manage fraud operations, including customer escalations, card alerts, payment escalations, chargebacks, investigations, and reporting.
• Prepare dashboards and detailed reports for the Board and governance committees.
• Lead the fraud team, manage managers, and strengthen the culture of operational risk management.
• Advise compliance, risk, product, and technology teams on fraud controls, automation, and product design.

Requirements

• 5+ years of senior operational risk and/or financial crime experience, preferably in Irish regulated financial services and payments.
• Experience working with retail clients and consumers.
• In-depth knowledge of European and Irish legislation, regulations, and guidance related to payment services and electronic money.
• Demonstrable experience developing and implementing fraud risk management frameworks, including policies, procedures, controls, quality control, and product launches.
• Degree-level education in Finance, Business, Technology, or a related field is desired.
• Strong communication skills, independence, ethical standards, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as CFE, CFCS, or an equivalent qualification.
