Senior Manager, Merchant Risk Operations, APAC (Fintech)

Location: Singapore, Dubai, Shanghai, Amsterdam, Dublin, Remote, Taipei, Shenzhen, London, or Hong Kong SAR; relocation to Singapore

What you will do

• Lead the APAC Merchant Risk Operations team for payments.
• Own operational performance across SLAs, quality, loss metrics, and customer impact.
• Oversee merchant monitoring, investigations, escalations, and risk-control workflows across APAC.
• Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Product, and Engineering to implement policies and improve risk tooling.
• Develop rules engines, case-management workflows, analytics surfaces, and automation using AI/LLM capabilities.
• Manage fraud and chargeback metrics while driving operational excellence and stakeholder alignment.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or acquiring, including 3+ years of people management.
• Deep expertise in merchant credit risk, fraud risk, reserves and exposure management, brand risk, AUP, or compliance management.
• Experience managing senior individual contributors in multi-location teams.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity, set priorities, and deliver outcomes in a high-growth environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work from one of the listed locations or relocate to Singapore.

Nice to have

• Strong analytical and data skills, including dashboards, data tools, experimentation, and impact measurement.
• Experience scaling risk operations in a global fintech or top-tier payments company.
• Experience designing risk tooling or automation with Product and Engineering, including AI, ML, or LLMs.
• Mandarin language proficiency.
