Location: Haywards Heath, England, United Kingdom; hybrid with 3 days in the office

What you will do
- Lead day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations, and month-end routines.
- Maintain accurate ledgers, supporting schedules, and internal controls.
- Manage invoice processing, purchase-order matching, payment runs, supplier onboarding, and query resolution.
- Monitor spend, explain variances, and partner with budget owners to improve financial discipline and cost visibility.
- Prepare VAT returns and manage journals, accruals, prepayments, balance-sheet reconciliations, and year-end schedules.
- Prepare audit-ready documentation, improve financial processes, and contribute to automation across invoicing, supplier management, and reconciliations.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, or CIMA and 1–4 years of post-qualified experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, VAT rules, month-end controls, and management information.
- Hands-on experience with invoicing, AP/AR, reconciliations, supplier management, payment runs, and month-end activities.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or NetSuite, plus strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Ability to maintain auditable financial processes, work independently, manage priorities, and escalate risks appropriately.
- Experience with multi-entity or international finance operations and coordination with overseas advisors, suppliers, or accountants.
Nice to have
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and data modelling.
- Experience supporting ERP implementation or systems migration.
- German language skills for supplier communication and coordination with Germany-based accountants.
