Yard Coordinator (Laverton)

What you will do

• Inspect and check in incoming vehicles, recording and filing facility information.
• Clean, preserve, number, and prepare vehicles and equipment for weekly or biweekly auctions.
• Move passenger vehicles and equipment safely around the facility and support drive-through auctions.
• Recover and organize keys, license plates, and other vehicle-related items.
• Assist visitors and customers by providing guidance or directing them to the appropriate contact.
• Operate or learn to operate forklifts and loaders, perform light vehicle maintenance, and follow safety procedures.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of related experience.
• Basic automotive repair skills and general mechanical knowledge of vehicle makes and models.
• Proficiency with a handheld PDA.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors year-round, climb on and off large equipment and trucks, and perform prolonged standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
• Ability to work in varying climates, weather conditions, and walking surfaces while following safety, environmental, and hazardous-material procedures.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles may be required at some facilities; forklift experience is beneficial, and willingness to learn forklift operation is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in equipment rental, construction, or a related field.
• Previous forklift operating experience.
