Electrical Diagnostician (Automotive)

Location: Kansas City, Kansas; onsite with full-time reporting to the plant. Travel required up to 25% for training and pre-production support. Relocation benefits are available under company policy.

What you will do

• Lead electrical troubleshooting for launch activities and top Electrical First-Time Quality issues using statistical problem-solving and strategy-based diagnostics.
• Support end-of-line vehicle repair, document electrical failures, identify root causes, and lead corrective action plans.
• Build repair-fault knowledge bases in GSIP and support repair operators with diagnostic tools, service information, schematics, and reporting systems.
• Train team leaders, repair operators, and production employees on vehicle electrical systems, new model features, defects, and quality alerts.
• Assist with process engineering, build tryouts, electrical test equipment maintenance, and fault-code generation.
• Support process, quality, and Operational Excellence initiatives across the plant.

Requirements

• Proven experience diagnosing and troubleshooting automotive electrical systems, including wiring and schematics.
• At least three years of experience with automotive electrical systems, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Availability for required travel and training at GM and supplier sites.

Nice to have

• ASE certification.
• Knowledge of hirify.global Manufacturing System principles and continuous improvement methods.
• Experience with GM diagnostic tools and systems, including TPM, MDI, Service Information, and related vehicle diagnostic technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, production, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
