UW I, Personal Lines (Auto & Personal Property)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; primarily office-based

What you will do

• Support underwriting performance for Auto and Personal Property lines, including topline growth, profitability, and loss ratio results.
• Review new and renewal underwriting referrals and provide approvals or modifications within delegated underwriting authority.
• Implement underwriting guidelines, corrective actions, risk selection practices, and pricing standards.
• Analyze portfolio performance, underwriting results, loss ratios, competitor activity, and market trends.
• Support product development, product enhancements, training programs, audits, peer reviews, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with distribution, agents, dealers, operations, IT, vendors, legal, claims, FP&A, and product development stakeholders.

Requirements

• More than three years of experience in insurance, preferably in Auto and Personal Property underwriting.
• Technical underwriting expertise, risk assessment skills, and a results-oriented approach.
• Understanding of Auto and Personal Property business models, underwriting methodology, and relevant market conditions.
• Experience managing customers, intermediaries, and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Fluent English required; fluency in another language is an advantage.
