NOC Technician - SDN MOC - Active TS/SCI Clearance Required

Location: Carlsbad, California; United States. The role requires shift work in a 24x7 environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and up to 25% travel.

Salary: $38.46–$60.82 per hour. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $47.84–$71.88 per hour.

What you will do

• Monitor SDN network health, status, performance, alarms, alerts, and support requests.
• Provision, orchestrate, and control network transport services across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot network anomalies and coordinate fixes with MOC DevOps teams, networks, customers, and vendors.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to meet system availability requirements.
• Monitor government users and operations, resolve terminal, provider, and network issues, and communicate directly with customers.
• Manage cases from start to finish while maintaining operational procedures, training materials, and a common operational picture.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in IP networking, satellite communications, or cloud services, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
• 3 years of experience in technical support or NOC operations.
• Experience with Windows/Linux, firewalls, endpoint security, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, Cisco or Palo Alto hardware, AWS or Azure, and SDN/SD-WAN.
• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen for this government position.
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required. Current or attainable DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required within six months of hire.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of RF or satellite communications experience.
• Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, UNIX/Linux configuration, and network trace analysis.
• CCNA, CCNP, Security+, or Network+ certification.
• Experience with network monitoring systems, NMS interfaces, command strings, and network addressing.
• Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute and experience collaborating in distributed teams.
