Software Engineer, Backend - Autonomous Delivery Platform (Robotics)

Salary: $193,800–$285,000 USD annual base salary, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Design and implement reliable, extensible backend services for IoT and autonomous delivery systems.
• Integrate autonomous delivery services with core hirify.global data.
• Create well-documented REST APIs for integration with other departments.
• Improve backend performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Introduce development tools and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate across product and platform teams to evaluate trade-offs and maximize business impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science or an equivalent background.
• 6+ years of industry experience as a software engineer.
• Experience with backend-for-frontend architecture, service-oriented architecture, REST APIs, unit testing, and architectural design.
• Ability to improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of multiple system resources.
• Understanding of modern web architecture, including HTTP and REST, plus experience with SQL.
• Professional experience with Java or Kotlin.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Kotlin, if not already used professionally.
• Experience with gRPC, Kafka, Redis, Postgres, or Cassandra.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, or Docker.
• Familiarity with geospatial data and GIS mapping technologies.
