Senior Mainframe Infrastructure Engineer (IBM Mainframe/zSeries)

What you will do

• Design, operate, and maintain IBM mainframe, high-performance computing, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure.
• Design complex infrastructure solutions covering virtualization, virtual networks, distributed storage, containerization, monitoring, and on-demand scaling.
• Configure zSeries hardware with IBM Hardware Configuration Manager, Connectivity Mapping Tool, and Hardware Configuration Definition.
• Plan and execute hardware installations, de-installations, cabling, microcode upgrades, maintenance, and supplier coordination.
• Monitor resources and hardware health, diagnose failures, resolve infrastructure bottlenecks, and plan future capacity.
• Lead cross-functional mainframe hardware projects, disaster recovery planning, data center transitions, and 24x7 support activities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of IT experience and 8+ years of development experience.
• Associate degree and practical experience with one advanced or two coding languages.
• Hands-on experience with IBM mainframe/zSeries hardware, computer hardware, configuration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with IT operations, Cisco, network switches, LANs, network protocols, network engineering, and configuration management.
• Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional infrastructure and mainframe hardware activities.
• Availability for weekend, evening, and on-call 24x7x365 support.
