TL;DR
Senior Analyst - Regulatory Affairs (Higher Education Compliance): Interpreting federal and state regulations, accreditor requirements, and administrative rules while developing compliance procedures, controls, reporting, and communications with an accent on regulatory analysis, risk mitigation, and cross-functional guidance. Focus on analyzing regulatory changes, implementing written compliance policies, resolving non-compliance issues, and presenting recommendations to senior management.

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week, Monday–Thursday

Salary: $49,199.33–$86,253.75 per year

What you will do

  • Interpret federal and state statutes, regulations, administrative rules, and accreditor requirements to determine organizational impact.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, reporting processes, materials, and communications.
  • Execute controls in high-risk areas, monitor compliance processes, and ensure timely correction of non-compliance issues.
  • Provide regulatory guidance to institutions, campuses, operations, and functional teams on programs, initiatives, and projects.
  • Review marketing materials, represent Regulatory Affairs with professional organizations and government entities, and deliver presentations to senior management.
  • Train colleagues and external partners, coordinate with other regulatory functions, and support the Regulatory Affairs Manager with escalated questions and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in a federal- or state-regulated environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and internet applications.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, critical-thinking, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented problem-solving ability and a strong work ethic in a high-productivity environment.
  • Ability to work in the Chicago hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week and travel 10%.
