Environmental Control Analyst II (Pharmaceutical Quality)

Location: On premise in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, United States. Rotating day shift on a 2-2-3 schedule, including scheduled holidays and overtime as needed.

Salary: $23.40–$39.01 per hour, with potential overtime, weekend, holiday, and other pay premiums.

What you will do

• Collect physical and microbiological samples from laboratory and manufacturing areas, including air, surfaces, water systems, commodities, and manufacturing materials.
• Perform environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical water, raw material, API, and finished-product assays using approved SOPs and applicable USP and FDA requirements.
• Handle, weigh, and process APIs while conducting qualitative, quantitative, and investigational analyses.
• Review samples and results, maintain accurate electronic and paper records, and support data trending and interpretation.
• Communicate atypical results, out-of-specification findings, instrument malfunctions, methodology issues, and safety concerns.
• Support peer data review, new-staff mentoring, laboratory operations, investigations, and continuous-improvement projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus 6 years of experience; or an associate degree plus 4 years of experience; or a bachelor's degree, preferably in Chemistry or a related science, plus 2 years of experience.
• Knowledge of basic microbiology, aseptic practices, and/or environmental monitoring principles.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States is required.
• U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, lift, work in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Training in laboratory testing methods and computerized record keeping.
• Cleanroom gowning and sampling experience.
