Full Stack - Senior Software Engineer (TypeScript/React)

Location: Remote; opportunity to meet team members in person twice per year

Salary: $145,000–$160,000 per annum

What you will do

• Design and build platform capabilities across frontend, backend services, APIs, and supporting infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable applications for children, educators, and families.
• Own features and services throughout their lifecycle, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, infrastructure, and production support.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver user-focused features.
• Use metrics, data, and customer insights to identify friction, measure impact, and improve the platform.
• Participate in architecture, technical standards, code reviews, testing, debugging, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 6+ years of full-stack engineering experience, including systems design, engineering standards, and technical direction.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, cloud infrastructure, deployment, security, monitoring, and production operations.
• Experience with Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code tool, including IAM, compute, storage, and service-to-service communication.
• Experience building systems for internal stakeholders and external users, including authentication, onboarding, or enablement features.
• Experience writing automated unit, integration, or end-to-end tests as part of the delivery workflow.
• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, React, SQL/NoSQL databases, Lambda, and API development.

Nice to have

• Startup or early-stage company experience, ideally as a founding engineer.
• Experience leading the design or delivery of systems that improved outcomes for users or teams.
