Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Maritime Robotics)

Location: San Diego, CA; in-office. Due to export control requirements, candidates must be U.S. persons and independently authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year, plus stock options and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and fabricate jigs, fixtures, tooling, manufacturing equipment, and test equipment.
• Develop process controls and verification methods with hardware, electrical, and software engineering.
• Provide hands-on engineering support during production builds and new product introduction.
• Source and qualify vendors for tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
• Evaluate and integrate manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.
• Lead process validation, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and production scale-up from prototype through full production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant coursework in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, design, or a related field.
• Experience with manufacturing processes covering component fabrication, sub-assemblies, and full vehicle integration.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software, preferably SolidWorks, including tooling drawings and GD&T.
• Experience improving material flow, pull systems, Kanban, min/max calculations, operator part presentation, and line-side racking.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person and be independently authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or maritime manufacturing.
• Software scripting experience.
