MS&T Senior Scientist - Small Molecule Drug Substance

Location: Boston, MA; on-site five days per week. International travel of up to two weeks at a time may be required to support validation and manufacturing campaigns, up to 20%.

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 base salary per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus and annual equity awards.

What you will do

• Advance pharmaceutical development and commercial manufacturing projects for small-molecule drug substances.
• Perform independent synthetic organic chemistry experiments and reaction process monitoring using analytical methods.
• Manage technical transfers, manufacturing collaborations, documentation, and change control with external CDMOs and suppliers.
• Develop hypotheses, experimental directions, technical recommendations, scientific strategies, and project reports.
• Represent MS&T on cross-functional teams with Analytical Sciences & Technology, Supply Chain, Quality, and Regulatory.
• Train and support other scientists while maintaining compliance with regulations and SOPs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry with 8+ years of experience, master’s degree with 5+ years, or PhD with 2–5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Experience in research and development, pharmaceutical development, chemical manufacturing, or a related field, with current laboratory experience.
• Strong synthetic chemistry laboratory skills and experience transferring developed technology to external CDMOs.
• Deep understanding of SOPs, GMPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work successfully in cross-functional teams and communicate complex scientific information in writing and verbally.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and activities concurrently.
