Security Senior Software Developer (Java/AWS)

Location: Remote in Colombia; Bogotá or Medellín

What you will do

• Create architecture, prototypes, RFCs, and design proposals aligned with product and platform roadmaps.
• Define and evolve back-end service architecture and standards for scalability, security, reliability, and APIs.
• Design, build, and operate distributed cloud-native services on AWS using incremental delivery practices.
• Improve build systems, CI/CD pipelines, testing, deployment, observability, monitoring, and incident response.
• Own cloud-platform security posture and CVE remediation, including secure transport and applied cryptography patterns.
• Mentor developers, facilitate cross-team technical discussions, and establish responsible AI-assisted development practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with impact beyond a single team.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native SaaS or multi-tenant platforms at scale, ideally on AWS.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, code quality, and HTTP APIs.
• Experience with agentic AI software development, mentoring developers, and influencing architectural decisions.
• Deep cloud-native service architecture expertise plus native Windows/C++ experience or willingness to develop it.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or open-source contributions.
• Native Windows development with C++/MFC/COM or experience with applied cryptography libraries.
