Salary: $190,000–$258,000 annual base pay in San Francisco; compensation may be adjusted based on employee location.

What you will do

  • Design and develop the Finance Data Platform supporting revenue recognition, consumption-based billing, financial reporting, forecasting, and real-time usage pipelines.
  • Translate Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and Revenue Operations requirements into scalable technical architecture aligned with reporting deadlines and audit cycles.
  • Define standards for financial data ingestion, transformation, storage, modeling, lineage, governance, and integrity across ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake, and related systems.
  • Build reliable, low-latency data solutions and establish monitoring, alerting, incident response, high availability, and fault tolerance.
  • Partner with Security, Compliance, Legal, and Internal Audit to support SOX, SOC 2, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Drive architecture and roadmap decisions, evaluate financial and billing tooling, and mentor engineers as the function grows.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a closely related field, with ownership of production data pipelines.
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale data infrastructure using Kafka and its ecosystem, ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake, and broader big data frameworks.
  • Experience building pipelines for financial reporting, revenue recognition, billing, or consumption-based pricing.
  • Proficiency with AWS, GCP, or Azure and associated big data services.
  • Strong data governance, security, compliance, audit, SOX, SOC 2, lineage, and data accuracy experience.
  • Strong communication, architecture, consensus-building, and engineering mentorship skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with NetSuite, Workday, ERP systems, or billing platforms.
  • Industry recognition or notable contributions to data engineering, including publications or open-source work.
