Software Engineer, GTM (Data/Finance)

Location: New York City or San Francisco, United States

Salary: $170,000–$260,000 annual base pay in San Francisco; compensation outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location.

What you will do

• Own reliable pipelines bringing billing, usage, and contract data into the warehouse.
• Diagnose data quality and freshness issues at the source.
• Design and maintain dbt models and dimensional data models for revenue recognition, margin, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Build datasets and semantic models for Finance dashboards, planning, forecasting, and close.
• Set testing, documentation, lineage, and code quality standards for financial data infrastructure.
• Partner with FP&A, Accounting, and Revenue stakeholders, mentor engineers, and guide technical decisions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with production-grade, testable code experience.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or a comparable transformation framework, dimensional/data modeling, and modern ELT/ETL workflows.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
• Direct experience with Finance data, usage-based billing, revenue recognition, financial close, or forecasting metrics.
• Ability to work from New York City or San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex metered billing across multiple products and Enterprise contracts.
• Experience establishing reconciliation, versioning, and auditability standards for Finance data.
