Commercial QA/QC Specialist (Energy Efficiency)

Location: San Antonio, TX, with field work at customer sites and commercial facilities; occasional overnight travel may be required.

Target hiring range: $50,000–$55,000 annually. Additional compensation range: $48,800–$66,300 annually; 3% annual target bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Conduct quality assurance inspections, audits, and pre- and post-installation verifications for commercial energy efficiency projects.
• Inspect lighting, HVAC, mechanical equipment, air infiltration measures, cool roofs, building envelopes, and emerging efficiency technologies.
• Evaluate installations against program standards, technical specifications, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
• Document findings with detailed notes, photographs, records, and supporting inspection documentation.
• Verify field data in company databases and reporting platforms and communicate observations and recommendations to program staff.
• Build professional relationships with customers, contractors, and trade allies while identifying opportunities to improve program quality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience or knowledge in HVAC, mechanical systems, construction, building performance, energy efficiency, inspections, facilities maintenance, lighting, or related technical fields is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, time management, integrity, and accountability.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based schedule and in varying weather and commercial environments, including rooftops and mechanical rooms.
• Must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver's license, and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer immigration sponsorship; pre-employment drug screening and motor vehicle checks are required.

Nice to have

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
• Commercial HVAC experience or experience with inspections, audits, quality control reviews, or field verification.
• Familiarity with commercial lighting systems, controls, Quickbase, FastField, CRM systems, or other data collection platforms.
