TL;DR
Senior Cost Analyst (DoD space programs): Developing defensible life-cycle cost estimates and risk analyses for space launch vehicles supporting national security programs with an accent on DoD acquisition, cost modeling, and contractor estimate analysis. Focus on building traceable cost methodologies, evaluating launch vehicle costs, supporting government source selections, and presenting findings to government customers.

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 per year, depending on education and experience.

What you will do

  • Develop defensible and traceable life-cycle cost estimates, cost methodologies, and cost models for DoD weapon systems and space programs.
  • Perform cost and risk analyses, normalize data, apply inflation and phasing, and document results.
  • Support government source-selection teams with proposal pricing analysis.
  • Review launch vehicle contractor cost estimates and provide recommendations to government customers.
  • Work with program managers and technical staff on program strategies and acquisition documents.
  • Present analysis and participate in fact-finding meetings at contractor sites and government facilities as needed.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and an active Secret Clearance are required.
  • On-site work in El Segundo, California is required.
  • At least 15 years of cost estimating and analysis experience supporting DoD, NRO, intelligence, NASA, or NOAA customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in mathematics, engineering, or the sciences.
  • Strong knowledge of the DoD acquisition process, cost estimating relationships, cost methodologies, cost models, and detailed risk analysis.
  • Experience with MS Excel and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • At least five years of cost estimating experience for space programs.
  • ICEAA or DAWIA cost-estimating certification.
  • Experience with ACEIT, SEER-SEM, and PRICE.
  • Experience leading independent cost estimates and reviews.
  • Top Secret/SCI with DCID 6/4 eligibility and familiarity with DoD and National Intelligence Community budget cycles.
