Senior Cost Estimator (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop cost estimates for all phases of Sensors acquisition programs using regression, confidence intervals, learning curves, analogy, grassroots, actual-cost, and parametric methods.
• Define Work Breakdown Structures and Cost Estimating Structures.
• Prepare Program Office Estimates, Independent Government Cost Estimates, special studies, milestone reviews, and life-cycle cost estimates.
• Perform should-cost, will-cost, Cost as an Independent Variable, Reduction in Total Ownership Costs, and other economic analyses.
• Analyze Price and Availability data and cost proposals, maintain financial database integrity, and assess program risks.
• Prepare program plans, baselines, risk assessments, and other acquisition documentation in accordance with AFLCMC processes.

Requirements

• Master’s or doctorate degree in a related field and 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in the Department of Defense; or a bachelor’s degree and 12 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in the Department of Defense.
• Advanced knowledge and recognized expertise as a Cost Estimating Analyst.
• Ability to work independently and apply established procedures.
• Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, DoD Financial Management Regulation, DAFI and DAFMAN guidance, AFLCMC cost processes, and MIL-STD-881D.
• Secret clearance required.
