Senior Software Engineer (Options)

Location: Chicago, United States

Annual base salary: $175,000–$250,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and relevant skills. The role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and maintain data-intensive desktop trading applications and reusable libraries with C# and modern .NET.
• Develop systems that ensure application performance, integrity, reliability, uptime, logging, and traceability.
• Profile and optimize rendering, memory usage, concurrency, reactive data pipelines, and application startup performance.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers, traders, and software developers on challenging technology problems.
• Own software across the full lifecycle, including design, implementation, automated testing, instrumentation, deployment, staged rollout, and production support.
• Use AI-assisted and agentic development tools to accelerate delivery and improve engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial experience building C#/.NET desktop applications.
• Thorough understanding of C# UI development and related tooling.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment that adopts new technologies and techniques.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to read and write high- and mid-level architecture documentation.
• Awareness of emerging technologies and standards.
