Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite

What you will do

  • Develop, deploy, and operate EEE parts control plans for human-rated space station and satellite programs.
  • Tailor EEE-INST-002, NASA-STD-8739.11, and related standards to support reliable, cost-effective avionics development.
  • Manage the EEE parts database, screen vendors and components, qualify parts, and monitor industry data sources.
  • Advise design engineers on component selection, derating, reliability design, FMECA/PFMECA, and reliability experiments.
  • Support component failure analysis using NDA, DPA, X-ray, CT scanning, SEM, and cross-sectioning.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain while supporting a culture of ownership and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, materials science, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of engineering experience; alternatively, an associate degree and 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Deep understanding of electronic piece parts for space applications.
  • Experience with electronic component selection, derating, and reliability analysis for space systems.
  • Knowledge of radiation effects, including TID and SEE, and electronics survivability topics such as ESD.
  • Experience with configuration management, requirements traceability, quality assurance, and technical communication.
  • Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
  • Experience in electronic parts, semiconductor, or electrical systems design roles.
  • Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-217F and ECSS/ESA standards.
  • Experience with MATLAB or Python for database programming and data analytics.
