Control Room Operator (Power Plant)

Location: Kennerdell, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite power plant role with rotating shifts, overtime, and emergency callouts.

What you will do

• Operate plant equipment, switchgear, power units, and auxiliary systems from the control room.
• Start up, parallel, shut down, place into service, and remove from service plant equipment.
• Respond to emergency situations and place equipment into a safe condition.
• Perform or assist with routine maintenance, overhauls, and major maintenance downtime activities.
• Write switching orders and perform required switching.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety checks and support the training of new operators and technicians.

Requirements

• Minimum four years of experience in power plant operator functions, including control room and auxiliary systems operation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of power production, control room operation, maintenance functions, operating procedures, system operating orders, and clearance procedures.
• Ability to clear equipment, write switching orders, and perform necessary switching.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, occasionally lift and climb, and complete post-offer physical examination and drug screening requirements.
