Intern, Mechanical Analysis Engineering (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Buffalo, NY and Elma, NY. Ability to relocate for the duration of the internship is required. The position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Salary: $25.50–$31.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support mechanical analysis engineering tasks for Space & Defense Group programs.
• Perform analyses such as finite element, finite difference, stress, deflection, thermal, fatigue, fracture, magnetics, and computational fluid dynamics analysis.
• Contribute to 3-D modeling, data reporting, and design and development modifications.
• Validate conceptual solutions through trade studies and engineering analyses.
• Advise mechanical tests and correlate analytical models with test results.
• Provide technical support to Space & Defense groups across the United States as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related bachelor's or master's degree program at an accredited university.
• GPA of at least 3.0; the exact department requirement may vary.
• Ability to work onsite in Buffalo or Elma, New York and relocate for the internship.
• Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information.
• Professional communication, a strong desire to learn, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
