Mechanical Engineering Co-op (Precision Motion Systems)

Location: Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, United States; Monday-Friday, in office

Salary: $24–26 per hour

Company

PI (Physik Instrumente) designs and manufactures high-precision positioning, motion, automation, and piezo technology systems for high-tech industries and research institutes.

What you will do

• Prepare detail and assembly drawings for precision motion systems.
• Provide CAD support to design engineers.
• Generate 2D CAD drawings from 3D solid model layouts.
• Load design information into the Product Lifecycle Management system.
• Contribute to engineering projects spanning research and development, instrument building, and testing.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university, majoring in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Experience using SolidWorks CAD.
• Some experience with manufacturing processes.
• Students typically work 40 hours per week during core business hours; exact hours can be discussed with the manager.

Nice to have

• Vocational school training in engineering technology or metal fabrication.
