TL;DR
Web Software Developer Intern (WFM) (JavaScript/TypeScript/AWS): Building production-quality web interfaces and backend services for Genesys Cloud Workforce Management with an accent on usability, testing, scalability, and cloud reliability. Focus on implementing responsive single-page applications, developing AWS-based functionality, and solving full-stack engineering challenges across the software development lifecycle.
Location: Toronto, Ontario, with a hybrid schedule requiring work from the downtown Toronto office 1–2 days per week. Internship/co-op terms run for 8–16 months beginning in May or June 2027.

What you will do
- Develop production-quality web applications and backend services for Cloud Workforce Management.
- Build responsive single-page interfaces with modern JavaScript and TypeScript technologies.
- Implement scalable and reliable cloud functionality using AWS services.
- Deliver product enhancements and bug fixes, including unit tests and test automation.
- Participate in peer reviews, agile development, technical problem solving, and the full software development lifecycle.
- Apply engineering tools and practices that improve code quality, delivery efficiency, and production readiness.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related program.
- Knowledge of responsive single-page web application development using modern JavaScript libraries or frameworks.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable web technologies.
- Knowledge of AWS technologies or fundamental cloud computing concepts.
- Understanding of testing, debugging, version control, and software development fundamentals.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in an agile environment.
Nice to have
- Exposure to HTML5, CSS3, LESS, TypeScript, Knockout, Vue.js, Mocha, Chai, or Webpack.
- Familiarity with Java, Clojure, or similar backend programming languages.
- Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, or SQS.
- Experience with GitHub, Bitbucket, or Jenkins.
