Senior Security Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Remote, limited to specified U.S. states or Ontario, Canada. Candidates must be able to live and work full-time in an eligible location.

Salary: $141,890–$159,650 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own and tune the EDR/MDR stack, detection policies, response runbooks, and security automation.
• Lead incident response from investigation and containment through remediation across endpoints, cloud, and identity systems.
• Set endpoint security standards for managed laptops and BYOD devices, including posture requirements, hardening baselines, and MDM policies.
• Define identity and access requirements, shape the RBAC model, and run recurring access reviews in the SSO environment.
• Build and remediate security controls across AWS, Google Workspace, identity systems, and data protection infrastructure.
• Conduct threat modeling, respond to security requests, and develop security awareness across the organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security operations, detection and response, or security engineering.
• Hands-on experience with EDR programs, detection logic, response runbooks, investigations, and containment.
• Experience securing managed and BYOD endpoint fleets, including device posture, hardening baselines, and MDM.
• Strong identity and access management experience with access controls, RBAC, access reviews, and SSO.
• AWS security experience covering IAM, network controls, logging, configuration management, and direct remediation.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, security automation, threat modeling, cross-functional collaboration, and communicating risk to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Terraform and CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Zero trust networhirify.globalg and identity-aware or device-aware access controls.
• Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or SOX.
• Google Workspace security administration, remote workforce security, or security awareness training experience.
• Security certifications such as AWS Certified Security Specialty, GCIH, or GCIA.
