Senior Security Engineer, Detection & Response

Location: Bellevue, WA; Menlo Park, CA; or Denver, CO, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week

Base pay: $146,000–$220,000 USD annually, depending on compensation zone, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead security incident response, contain threats, quantify impact, and communicate with executive stakeholders.
• Build, tune, and maintain a global detection catalog across cloud and Kubernetes environments.
• Architect the Autonomic Security Operations roadmap using AI agents and automated issue discovery.
• Analyze complex, multi-language codebases to identify vulnerabilities, assess threat vectors, and guide remediation.
• Participate in a one-week-on-call rotation to maintain real-time operational readiness.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Detection & Response, Incident Response, or Security Operations.
• Experience leading complex incident responses under pressure and communicating clearly with executives.
• Advanced expertise securing cloud environments, particularly Kubernetes.
• Ability to read and analyze code across multiple programming languages.
• Experience designing and operating scalable detection engineering pipelines and SOAR playbooks.
• Hands-on experience implementing agentic AI workflows for security operations.

Nice to have

• Experience with threat hunting, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, or Red Team operations.
• Background in high-growth fintech, crypto platforms, or managed security service providers.
• Familiarity with DeFi, crypto, blockchain, and related technologies.
