Observability Developer (New Relic)

What you will do

• Develop behavioral dashboards and alert conditions using New Relic and NRQL.
• Validate alert behavior and verify dashboard data accuracy across production telemetry.
• Monitor anomaly detection, drift detection, safety signals, and policy denials.
• Build auditability views that surface governance evidence for business and compliance use.
• Maintain segregation between technical observability data in CloudWatch and New Relic and audit evidence in dedicated repositories and SIEM platforms.
• Use Python for metrics emission, telemetry verification, automation, and monitoring improvements while collaborating with engineering, security, and compliance teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in observability engineering, monitoring engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with New Relic and NRQL for dashboard development and alert condition management.
• Experience with behavioral or anomaly monitoring, production telemetry, alert tuning, and dashboard validation.
• Experience in environments with formal audit, governance, or compliance evidence requirements.
• Python experience for metrics emission, telemetry validation, and automation tasks.
• Understanding of monitoring architectures, observability best practices, and cross-functional collaboration in enterprise environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with anomaly or drift detection for agent telemetry.
• Experience validating PII redaction in traces and observability dashboards.
• Experience with Cedar policy decisions, Contract Policy Engine denial events, SIEM platforms, or governance reporting solutions.
• Experience mapping monitoring controls to security, governance, or compliance frameworks.
