Risk & Controls Manager (Digital Assets)

Location: Hybrid role based in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds or Manchester, with at least two days per week or 40% of working time at an office site.

Salary: £67,023–£81,917 per year

What you will do

• Lead risk and control activity across Digital Assets initiatives within Business and Commercial Banking.
• Design and maintain end-to-end control frameworks for products, services, processes, and customer journeys.
• Identify operational, conduct, financial, and regulatory risks and translate them into controls, monitoring, and assurance activities.
• Partner with programme, platform, product, technology, operations, legal, compliance, and delivery teams to embed control-by-design principles.
• Use data, analytics, and management information to identify trends and improve control effectiveness.
• Prepare governance materials and communicate complex risk and control matters to senior leaders.

Requirements

• Strong experience in non-financial risk, control management, operational risk, governance, risk assessments, or control framework design in a large and complex organisation.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, including the ability to evaluate information and make sound recommendations.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and managing relationships across multiple functions.
• Experience in change, transformation, product development, or delivery environments.
• Clear communication skills for governance papers, presentations, and colleague engagement.

Nice to have

• Understanding of digital assets, distributed ledger technology, tokenisation, or related propositions.
• Experience applying control-by-design principles in large-scale programmes or strategic change initiatives.
• Experience using data and analytics to improve control monitoring, reporting, and risk insights.
