Operational Risk Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, based in Manchester or London, United Kingdom, with office attendance once a week. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm.

What you will do

• Support business areas with operational risk identification, assessment and control responsibilities.
• Conduct risk assessments and reviews, identify control weaknesses and recommend practical improvements.
• Develop, maintain and implement operational risk policies, procedures and the risk and control self-assessment process.
• Coordinate risk events and issues, monitor action plans, and identify recurring themes and underlying causes.
• Plan testing and monitoring activities to assess control design and operating effectiveness.
• Develop key risk indicators and prepare monthly and quarterly risk reporting for senior management and the Board.

Requirements

• Experience in operational risk, risk management, internal controls or a related assurance role, ideally in banking or financial services.
• Understanding of operational risk frameworks and first- and second-line responsibilities.
• Experience with risk assessments, control reviews, risk events, issues management and key risk indicators.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to provide constructive challenge, work collaboratively and maintain independent risk oversight.
• Awareness of the regulatory environment for UK banks and its relevance to operational risk.
