Junior Field Technician (IoT Hardware)

Location: North Island, New Zealand; field-based work across farms with up to 2–3 nights away from home per week

Company

Develops agricultural technology that helps farmers run more productive and sustainable grazing operations using connected cattle collars.

What you will do

• Plan daily travel routes and use route optimisation tools to visit farms efficiently.
• Drive between farms across the assigned region and maintain a continuous farm-visit loop.
• Manage collar stock on customer farms and dispatch urgent replacement collars.
• Ship collars back to the Auckland headquarters and keep field logistics organised.
• Conduct hardware audits and trials on customer farms.
• Represent the company professionally during on-farm customer interactions.

Requirements

• Full clean New Zealand Class 1 driver's licence required.
• Physical fitness and readiness for manual field work.
• Reliability, punctuality, ownership, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently on the road and collaboratively when back at base.
• Strong communication skills for working with farmers and customers.
• On-farm experience is beneficial, particularly with beef or dairy cattle.
