Technical UI Designer (Game Development)

Location: Oxford, England, United Kingdom. Workplace: On-site at the riverside Oxford headquarters. A relocation package with moving assistance, temporary accommodation, and transition support is available.

What you will do

• Act as the point of contact for a visual scripting toolset and create core UI systems for unannounced projects.
• Implement complex UI features and contribute design ideas that improve product quality.
• Build reusable components for UI designers implementing complex interface designs.
• Collaborate with UI designers, artists, technical artists, and tools programmers.
• Improve the UI toolset, establish best practices, and support the evolution of a new game engine.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating varied Technical UI work.
• Strong enthusiasm for UI/UX standards and best practices.
• Familiarity with game engines such as Unity, Unreal, or similar platforms.
• Experience with node-based visual scripting editors and responsive layouts.
• Experience planning, implementing, and sharing core UI elements for other designers.
• Knowledge of profiling and runtime performance optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing mobile UI.
