Lab Technician (Specialty Gases)

Location: La Porte, Texas, United States; onsite work at the Miller Cut-Off Road industrial specialty gas Hydrocarbon Mix Plant

What you will do

• Perform analyses of specialty gas mixtures and pure gases using analytical instrumentation.
• Support production quality control, product certification, and release of products for distribution.
• Prepare gas analysis certification reports for customers and verify production records.
• Maintain laboratory instruments, equipment records, inventory, labeling, documentation, and storage standards.
• Collaborate with production, management, and leadership on delivery schedules, customer feedback, product requests, safety, and ISO quality programs.
• Work across shifts and support changing team priorities, including operations in all weather conditions.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Chemistry or a related field, or 1–3 years of relevant industrial experience.
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, spectroscopy, and statistical methods.
• Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets, safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• High precision, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and coordination skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or equivalent software.
• Ability to operate a forklift, maintain forklift certification, work all shifts, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
