Quality Control Senior Technician (Fragrance)

Location: On-site in Elizabeth, New Jersey, 5 days a week. Complimentary shuttles are available from Brooklyn and Newark, New Jersey.

Total compensation: $80K–$100K, plus equity.

What you will do

• Evaluate incoming raw materials and finished fragrance products through automated testing, sensory assessment, and triangulation testing.
• Make independent real-time accept/reject decisions and escalate only genuinely ambiguous cases.
• Cover QC sign-off responsibilities when the QC Manager is unavailable.
• Maintain and operate laboratory instrumentation, including GC/MS, photosamplers, flash point testers, and colorimeters.
• Maintain audit-ready test logs, certificates of analysis, calibration checks, and equipment records.
• Mentor QC Technicians and coordinate sample flow and testing turnaround with Purchasing, Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving, and Fragrance Development.

Requirements

• Fragrance-industry experience or exposure is required; adjacent industries do not substitute for fragrance experience.
• Strong sensory and olfactive evaluation skills for fragrance raw materials and finished goods.
• Ability to make frequent independent QC decisions without over-escalating routine cases.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and strong documentation habits; GC/GCMS familiarity is a plus.
• Technical degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent hands-on fragrance laboratory experience is accepted.
• Must work on-site in Elizabeth, New Jersey, five days per week, and verify eligibility to work in the United States.
