Senior Software Development Engineer, Money Platform (Fintech)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States. Hybrid work with onsite attendance Tuesday through Thursday each week; additional onsite attendance may be required.

Salary: $180,000–$225,000 annual base salary, plus equity and other total compensation components.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and operate high-throughput services, APIs, data models, and configuration-driven systems for money movement.
• Model the global payment network, including partners, institutions, destinations, routes, currencies, payment methods, and product lines.
• Own technical areas across the Global Network Experience platform and guide technical strategy while shipping production features.
• Migrate and decommission legacy services without interrupting production traffic, while enabling operators and partner teams to manage capabilities through configuration.
• Partner with ML, analytics, network operations, Treasury, integration squads, and product teams to productionize routing and estimate intelligence.
• Participate in Tier-1 on-call operations, change control, and compliance work for SOX- and PCI-scoped systems.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience and 6+ years of professional experience.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed backend systems with high throughput and low latency.
• Experience with data modeling, configuration-driven or rules-engine systems, and domains with many interacting dimensions and sparse valid combinations.
• Experience migrating or decommissioning production systems while they remain in use.
• Knowledge of backend programming languages such as Java or Golang, plus software design, algorithms, system design, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab and evaluating AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.

Nice to have

• Experience with analytics, data engineering, datasets, or pipelines supporting downstream and ML systems.
• Background in payments, money movement, external partner integrations, or correctness-critical workflows.
• Experience productionizing ML models in decisioning systems or building internal tools for non-engineering users.
• Experience with time- and schedule-based logic across multiple jurisdictions.
