Production Test Engineer

Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan, United States; onsite production environment

What you will do

• Set up, integrate, maintain, and provide primary technical support for in-circuit testing hardware.
• Support the development of customer fixtures and adapters for production requirements.
• Debug and optimize electrical test parameters for high-throughput manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot test programs and hardware failures using diagnostic tools.
• Collaborate with software engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure reliable system performance.
• Document configurations and procedures, manage preventive maintenance, and maintain hardware inventory and spare components.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Proficiency in circuit analysis and diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
• Ability to interpret schematics, technical documents, and datasheet parameters for common electrical components.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality standards, and preventive maintenance for high-volume production.
• Ability to work in an active production environment involving standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting or moving items over 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent electronics experience and knowledge.
• VB.NET proficiency for test scripting and automation.
• CAD experience for schematic review or modification.
• Additional scripting or automation experience with Python or LabVIEW.
• Knowledge of PCB fabrication and SMT processes.
