Forward Deployed Engineer (GenAI)

Location: Remote, with a hybrid schedule requiring 24 hours of in-office work each week for associates residing within 30 miles of an office. External candidates residing in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Washington are not currently considered.

Salary: $140,000–$185,000 annually, based on experience.

What you will do

• Lead technical discovery and requirements sessions with higher education and SLED client stakeholders.
• Scope deliverable GenAI and agentic AI use cases on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
• Build and maintain a sequenced delivery backlog for GCP/Gemini Enterprise, data engineering, and AgentOps teams.
• Assess technical feasibility, dependencies, delivery risks, and acceptance criteria throughout engagements.
• Identify FERPA, state privacy, accessibility, data governance, and security requirements early in solution design.
• Advise institutional clients on practical AI adoption paths and partner with engineering, account, and engagement teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience scoping and delivering GenAI or agentic AI solutions for enterprise or institutional clients.
• Experience in a client-facing technical role such as solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, or technical consulting.
• Working knowledge of cloud data, compute, IAM, network security, and compliance concepts used in AI solution design.
• Ability to translate ambiguous client requirements into structured delivery backlogs and lead discovery sessions.
• Experience with higher education, SLED, public-sector data, FERPA, state privacy law, or related procurement requirements is strongly preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering teams while owning technical scope and direction separately from commercial decisions.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform components, including Agent Builder, Model Garden, Workspace Studio, or Gemini models.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification or an equivalent technical certification.
• GenAI delivery experience with AWS Bedrock or Azure AI Foundry.
