Food Safety Associate

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; onsite field operations role.

Salary: $19 per hour.

What you will do

• Monitor food production and ensure chefs follow food safety regulations, kitchen rules, and sanitation procedures.
• Perform refrigeration, chemical concentration, temperature, labeling, and thermometer calibration checks.
• Conduct daily facility compliance walks, department audits, and corrective actions.
• Keep the commissary, coolers, freezers, and prep areas clean, functional, and ready for regulatory or third-party inspections.
• Work with Kitchen Operations, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Facilities to resolve food safety and quality issues.
• Collect cooler and sanitary transport data and support food safety and sanitation training.

Requirements

• Experience in a high-compliance food processing facility operating under USDA or FDA requirements.
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills required.
• Experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to explain food safety concepts clearly, build relationships, and communicate professionally with stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned duties without direct supervision.
• Proficiency with G Suite or Google Workspace.
