What you will do

• Perform bake tests according to established formulas, recipes, and customer specifications.
• Evaluate finished products for appearance, texture, flavor, volume, and color.
• Conduct analytical testing, including pH and moisture measurements, and maintain accurate quality records.
• Verify compliance with GMP, SOP, BRC requirements, and food safety programs.
• Monitor incoming raw materials, packaging, and labels for specification compliance.
• Participate in investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or be able to commute to Rochester, NY
• Minimum High School diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in bakery, food manufacturing, or quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of baking principles and ingredient functionality.
• Knowledge of food safety systems including GMP, HACCP, and BRC programs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment with allergens.

Nice to have

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Baking Science, Quality Assurance, or Microbiology.
• Experience with SAP or similar manufacturing systems.
• Previous experience working in a BRC-certified food manufacturing environment.
