Hardware NPI / Debug Engineer (Networking)

Location: Santa Clara, California, USA; hybrid role with required travel to contract manufacturing sites in Mexico, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

Base salary: $120,000–$165,000 per year, plus potential bonuses and equity.

What you will do

• Lead early prototype builds in partnership with hardware, manufacturing, and test engineering teams.
• Drive Design for Excellence reviews covering manufacturability, testability, quality, and reliability.
• Perform system-level debugging, root-cause analysis, repairs, and technical diagnostics.
• Interpret schematics, PCB layouts, mechanical drawings, and datasheets to identify design issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and platform design teams to improve products and manufacturing processes.
• Mentor contract manufacturing partners and support production and quality standards.

Requirements

• BSEE degree required; MSEE strongly preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience in hardware, NPI, sustaining, or test engineering within networking, AI, GPU, or computing industries.
• Experience with system debugging, root-cause analysis, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of IPC and JEDEC standards, complex PCB fabrication structures such as VIPPO and backdrill, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Passport readiness and ability to travel to Mexico, Malaysia, and Vietnam manufacturing sites.
• Fluent English is required.
