TL;DR
WMS Workflow Architect (Datex WMS): Designing and governing Datex WMS workflows for pharmaceutical 3PL operations with an accent on regulatory compliance, multi-client warehouse processes, integrations, and validation. Focus on standardizing architecture across onshore and offshore teams, solving complex distribution and data-integration challenges, and leading production change control.

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, USA; office-based role with 15–25% travel

Salary: USD 123,000–166,500 per year

What you will do

  • Own enterprise architecture standards, design conventions, configuration patterns, and workflow blueprints for the Datex WMS platform.
  • Lead and develop onshore and offshore WMS configuration, workflow development, analysis, and QA teams.
  • Design pharmaceutical warehouse workflows covering FEFO allocation, lot and serial control, quarantine, temperature-controlled operations, controlled substances, 3PL billing, and value-added services.
  • Govern integrations with ERP, TMS, carriers, automation, and serialization systems, including EDI, JSON, XML, API-based, event-driven, and serverless components.
  • Oversee validation, change control, release management, environment synchronization, incident escalation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Customer Solutions, Client Onboarding, clients, and executive stakeholders on scalable warehouse solutions.

Requirements

  • Must work from the Memphis, Tennessee office in the USA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7–10+ years of hands-on Datex WMS configuration, workflow design, and architecture experience.
  • 5+ years leading onshore and offshore teams, with strong communication across business, operations, and technical functions.
  • Deep pharmaceutical distribution expertise, including DSCSA, cGMP/GDP, 21 CFR Part 11, audit trails, e-signatures, and cold-chain workflows.
  • Strong SQL Server, 3PL multi-client, warehouse process, and GxP validation experience, including URS/FRS, IQ/OQ/PQ, CAPA, traceability, and change control.

Nice to have

  • Advanced supply chain or WMS certifications.
  • Azure Functions or Node/TypeScript integration utilities experience.
  • ERP, TMS, carrier integration, warehouse automation, serialization, TraceLink, or SAP ATTP experience.
  • Power BI or Tableau experience with operational data models.
