Salary: $4,166.67–$4,791.67 per month ($50,000–$57,500 annually approximately)

What you will do
- Coordinate project activities with the principal investigator, co-principal investigators, and assigned staff.
- Conduct field and laboratory activities to acquire data and process collected samples.
- Analyze water quality, time-series, and community structure data.
- Submit data to the data manager and publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present them at scientific meetings.
- Develop new research directions and submit grant applications to support them.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students and engage with collaborators, managers, and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Marine Science or a related field.
- Experience identifying phytoplankton, preferably including marine taxa, and fundamental knowledge of phytoplankton ecology.
- Experience with statistical techniques for time-series and community structure data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including communicating scientific findings to broad audiences.
- Project management experience and the ability to meet project goals on time.
- Ability to participate in field work under occasional harsh conditions, including heat and wind.

- Experience with R software packages.
