Postdoctoral Research Associate (Community-Based Health Research)

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; research activities involve community partners in Fort Worth and West Dallas.

What you will do

• Conduct data collection and analysis for an NIH/NHLBI-funded longitudinal study of pay-what-you-can community restaurants.
• Evaluate physiological outcomes including blood pressure, blood lipids, blood glucose, and waist-to-height ratio.
• Assess psychosocial and behavioral outcomes such as diet quality, psychological stress, food security, and nutrition security.
• Conduct a mixed-methods RE-AIM process evaluation with community partners.
• Lead and collaborate on manuscripts, conference presentations, scientific reports, and grant proposals.
• Contribute to additional community-engaged intervention and longitudinal cohort studies within the Healthy Living program.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in a related field such as nutrition or public health; ABD candidates and candidates with a pending diploma may be considered.
• Research experience involving data collection, data analysis, peer-reviewed publications, and scientific presentations.
• Training and experience in human subjects research and research project implementation.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work onsite in Dallas, Texas, and participate in community-based research activities.

Nice to have

• Experience designing interventions or research studies with underserved, food-insecure, minority, or urban populations.
• Experience with community-based health behavior interventions and community-engaged research.
• Strong qualitative and/or quantitative analysis skills and experience with statistical tools and software.
• Experience writing scientific manuscripts and collaborating on extramural funding applications.
