Senior Data Scientist (Machine Learning)

Location: Bentonville, Arkansas, United States; onsite at the Bentonville Home Office

Annual salary: $90,000–$180,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Identify and source data across business domains and assess its quality and suitability for analysis.
• Develop, test, deploy, scale, and continuously tune predictive and analytical models using Python and SQL.
• Perform exploratory data analysis and apply statistical and machine learning methods to generate actionable business insights.
• Translate stakeholder and business requirements into data-driven solutions aligned with organizational goals.
• Create visualizations for technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Mentor junior team members on modeling techniques and best practices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in data science and advanced statistical methods for developing and validating predictive models.
• Proficiency in Python and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, or Tableau.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, data mining, and exploratory data analysis.
• Expertise in identifying data sources, assessing data quality, and using database technologies including SQL and NoSQL.
• Ability to deploy, scale, and maintain analytical models in production environments.
• Ability to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
• Minimum qualification: a bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus 3 years of analytics-related experience; or a master's degree in one of these fields plus 1 year of analytics-related experience; or 5 years of experience in an analytics or related field.

Nice to have

• Experience in data science, machine learning, and optimization models.
• A master's degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Econometrics.
• Successful completion of assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.
• Experience with open-source frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or Torch.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
