Senior Product Owner, Global Workflow (Appian)

Location: Owings Mills, Maryland, United States; hybrid work with up to one day per week from home.

Base salary: $122,000–$209,000 for Maryland, Colorado, Washington, and remote workers; $135,000–$230,000 for Washington, D.C.; $153,000–$261,000 for New York and California. Discretionary bonus eligibility may apply.

What you will do

• Define the vision, outcomes, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for the Appian-based Global Workflow platform.
• Prioritize enterprise workflow opportunities based on strategic value, business impact, risk, dependencies, and delivery capacity.
• Lead and coach Appian Product Owners and Product Analysts while establishing product-management standards, planning cadences, and quality expectations.
• Oversee delivery pods, resolve dependencies and escalations, and manage scope, quality, timing, and commitments.
• Own shared Appian capabilities, upgrades, reusable components, platform scalability, reliability, security, and sustainability.
• Measure adoption and value realization while advancing AI-enabled workflow, process intelligence, automation, and responsible platform innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, plus 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience owning or leading complex enterprise products or platforms across strategy, roadmap development, prioritization, delivery, adoption, and value realization.
• Strong knowledge of Appian or comparable workflow platforms, preferably with Appian product management or product ownership experience in a large enterprise.
• Experience with Agile delivery, roadmap and backlog management, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint planning, and release planning.
• Experience redesigning complex business processes and implementing workflow automation, AI-enabled workflows, intelligent document processing, process intelligence, or decision automation.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder-management, influencing, communication, and consensus-building skills in a matrixed environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in investment management, wealth management, financial services, or another highly regulated industry.
• CSPO, PSPO, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with external delivery partners, systems integrators, software vendors, or agentic workflow capabilities.
